Counterterrorism Internship Program ​

​

The Counterterrorism Group Internship Program is looking for REMOTE Counterterrorism Intelligence Analyst, Intelligence Analyst/Editors, Watch Officers, and Technical Specialist Interns (Four descriptions are below)

 

Description

The mission of the Counterterrorism Group (CTG) is to protect individuals, organizations, personnel and places against acts of terrorism. CTG professionals develop customized services and solutions that help deter, detect, and defeat terrorism. CTG is looking for a select group of individuals to become Counterterrorism Intelligence Analysts Interns. Counterterrorism Intelligence Analysts Interns assess foreign and domestic terrorist groups as well as lone wolf terrorists to identify specific threats, warn of and preempt attacks, disrupt their networks, and eventually defeat terrorist organizations or individuals focused on committing an act of terrorism. Interns are expected to work remotely a minimum of 15 hours per week with weekly check-ins.  We are entirely remote and looking for people from all over the world.  As long as you are passionate about keeping people safe, have a solid work ethic, and a good internet connection, we want you!

INTELLIGENCE ANALYST INTERN

 

Turn real-world information into intelligence on terrorism, counterterrorism, security, and geopolitical issues. Intelligence Analyst Interns work across regional teams focused on different areas of the world and specialty teams focused on OSINT, extremism, cyber, behavior and leadership, and propaganda and mis/disinformation.

What You'll Do:

• Use OSINT to research and analyze terrorism, counterterrorism, security threats, geopolitical developments, and emerging issues.

• Identify trends, assess evolving situations, and turn complex information into clear intelligence products.

• Monitor and analyze terrorist events and developments worldwide.

• Research terrorist organizations and individuals, including their intentions, capabilities, tactics, recruitment, and leadership.

• Work across teams and contribute to intelligence products and projects.

INTELLIGENCE ANALYST/EDITOR INTERN

​

Gain a unique view of intelligence production across CTG by working with reports from different regions and specialties. Editing and Quality Control Analyst/Editors help shape the final intelligence product CTG publishes while also having opportunities to research, analyze, and produce their own intelligence products.

What You'll Do:

• Work with intelligence covering terrorism, counterterrorism, security threats, geopolitical developments, and emerging issues.

• Review completed products and determine whether the analysis, evidence, sourcing, and conclusions meet CTG's intelligence standards.

• Spot analytical gaps, challenge assumptions, and identify questions that can make an assessment stronger.

• Work with analysts to strengthen products before publication.

• Evaluate how writing, data, maps, and visuals communicate intelligence to different audiences.

• Research, analyze, and write intelligence products on real-world threats and emerging issues.

WATCH/GSOC ANALYST INTERN 

 

Step into a real-time security operations environment where global events unfold in real time. WATCH/GSOC Analyst Interns use OSINT to track and validate developing events, assess potential threats, and produce timely intelligence that supports situational awareness and security operations.

 

What You'll Do:

• Monitor worldwide events focused on terrorism, counterterrorism, security threats, geopolitical developments, and emerging issues.

• Use OSINT tools and multiple sources to collect, validate, and assess developing information.

• Track critical incidents and produce timely alerts, notifications, and intelligence reporting.

• Assess threats based on affected locations, personnel, operations, and assets.

• Support location-specific intelligence through geographic alerts, assessments, mapping, and other GSOC products.

• Participate in WATCH and GSOC operations in a 24/7/365 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays in shift work.

MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST INTERN: COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Marketing: Support business development and external products through marketing, SEO, analytics, and related tools.

• Social Media: Create and support social media coverage across platforms including but nor subject to Instagram, X, and Facebook.

• Communications: Create and curate engaging content that strengthens CTG’s voice and mission across online and offline platforms.

• Demonstrate creativity, adaptability, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to complete projects.

• Interest or experience in business development, marketing, social media, communications, or related fields.

• Participate in mentoring, group learning, business exposure, project management, and a final presentation highlighting key experiences and lessons learned.

MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST INTERN: BUSINESS & STRATEGY

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Product Development: Support business development and external products through strategy, analytics, and related mission objectives.

• Interest or experience in business development, strategy, analytics, business analysis, or related fields.

• Demonstrate creativity, adaptability, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to complete projects.

• Participate in mentoring, group learning, business exposure, project management, and a final presentation highlighting key experiences and lessons learned.

 

MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST INTERN: TECHNICAL 

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Support CTG’s Technical Development Team in creating innovative solutions addressing terrorism and global security threats.

• Demonstrate creativity, adaptability, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to complete projects.

• Participate in mentoring, group learning, business exposure, project management, and a final presentation highlighting key experiences and lessons learned.

• Have the technical acumen to use software applications, including artificial intelligence.

 

MISSION SUPPORT SPECIALIST INTERN: MEDIA 

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Support CTG’s Media Team in developing and editing media and audio content addressing terrorism and global security threats.

• Demonstrate creativity, adaptability, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to learn quickly.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to complete projects.

• Participate in mentoring, group learning, business exposure, project management, and a final presentation highlighting key experiences and lessons learned.

• Have the technical acumen to use software applications, including artificial intelligence.

The internship is unpaid. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until 3 am EDT on Saturday, October 31, 2026.  Onboarding will be in January, and Training will be three weeks in February.  The internship will run through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
